Nancy Tyler is a classically trained flutist and teacher based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She performs at weddings, receptions, parties, art openings and other special events throughout the Bay Area and the Wine Country and teaches privately in her Santa Rosa studio. She has played at many different venues, including Yoshi's Oakland, Rose Studio at Lincoln Center, and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. She has performed with the Bay Area Chamber Symphony, the San Francisco Flute Quartet and Trio, and the Espiritu Trio. She has performed with many musicians including flutist Carol Alban, guitarist Bert Lams of the California Guitar Trio, Chapman Stickist Tom Griesgraber of Agent 22, pianist Matt Herskowitz (pianist/composer for the soundtrack of the film The Triplets of Belleville), and the Matt Herskowitz Trio, (formerly MaD Fusion), Native American and silver flutist Ann Licater, flutist Robert Dick, didgeridooist Paradiso, flugelhornist Jeff Oster, Venezuelan and classical flutist Marco Granados, Irish flutist Skip Healy, bansuri player Ravichandra Kulur (who tours with Ravi Shankar and Anoushka Shankar), ney player Bassam Saba and percussionist April Centrone, (who tour with Yo Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble), jazz pianist Taylor Eigsti, pianist Sandro Russo, bassist Kai Eckhardt of Garaj Mahal, (who formerly toured with the John McLaughlin Trio), bassists Marc Levine and Harish Raghavan, jazz flutist Roger Glenn, and drummers Narada Michael Walden and John Santos.

Nancy Tyler began studying flute at the age of nine in Berkeley, CA. She currently resides in Santa Rosa, California with her husband and their dog. Former teachers include Paul Renzi, Principal Flutist of the San Francisco Symphony. She holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from San Francisco State University.
